MacBook Pro M1 Pro and M1 MAX

MacBook Pro M1 Pro and M1 MAX

The Pro models are available in 2021 MacBook 14.2-inch and 16.2-inch sizes. The Pro models are available in the 2021 MacBook with a mini-LED display, more ports, up to 64GB of memory, and a powerful Apple silicon chip, the M1 Pro and M1 Max. In short, they are by far the best MacBook Pro models.

Newer MacBook Pro models can configure with the M1 Pro chip or the M1 Max chip. Both chips have a 10-core CPU with eight high-performance cores and two high-efficiency cores. A lower-end 8-core model is available for the entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. Both chips also have a 16-core neural engine.

The difference between the titles “Pro” and “Max” comes under GPU performance. The M1 Pro MacBook features a 16-core GPU, while the M1 Max features a 32-core GPU, available as a mid-level upgrade option with a 24-core GPU. The M1 Pro supports unified memory up to 32GB. The M1 Max supports unified memory up to 64GB.

According to Apple, the M1 Pro and Pro Max CPU are up to 70 percent faster than the CPU of the M1. M1 Pro’s GPU is up to 2x quicker than M1’s, and M1 Max’s GPU is up to 4x quicker than M1’s. The M1 Pro and Pro Max use a system-on-a-chip architecture like the M1. The M1 Pro supports memory bandwidth up to 200GB / s. The M1 Pro supports memory bandwidth up to 400GB / s.

The 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have a Liquid Retina XDR display. The 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models have a mini-LED display with a permanent brightness of up to 1000 nits, 1600 nits peak brightness, and a 1,000,000: 1 contrast ratio. The 14-inch Pro has a resolution of 3024-by-1964 at 254 pixels per inch. The 16-inch MacBook model has a resolution of 3456-by-2234 at 254 pixels per inch.

It has a thin 3.5mm bezel on the side and top and a notched design with a 1080p webcam at the top of the display. Both displays are equipping with promotion technology, which supports adaptive refresh rates from 24Hz to 120Hz. Other display technologies include P3 Wide Color and True Tone for True-to-Life Colors, which change the display’s white balance to match the light in the room.

In terms of design, the new MacBook Pro models look the same as the older MacBook models, but they are thicker & heavier with a rounded design in the lower corners. Silver and gray are the only color options available.

Display: Mini-LED and Promotion

The new MacBook Pro models have a mini-LED backlighting Retina XDR display for 3x higher brightness when viewing HDR content. The promotion adds an adaptive refresh rate between the energy-saving 24Hz and a smooth look. 120Hz depends on the type of content displayed on the screen.

The new MacBook Pro displays have also been upgraded with the iPad Pro’s promotion feature. Which is so good that using a laptop without it is annoying now. You can turn off promotion and use Pro at a fixed refresh rate (47.95Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 59.94Hz, or 60Hz).

But I tried to use it at 60Hz, and after about a week, I saw the difference very clearly at 120Hz. It’s much smoother if the promotion is on.

Battery life

Apple says the new MacBook Pro models get 10 hours more battery life per charge than previous-generation models.

Like the return of MagSafe, abandoning the touch bar is a prime example of why new MacBooks are the best of the year. They present some significant advances based on previous generation technology and education and probably, most importantly, listen to user feedback. It means going beyond what doesn’t work and doubling what it does, and above all, you never guess what’s best for the consumer – especially in the case of highly specialized creative professionals. For most customers, the MacBook Air does the job – and then some. But if you’re someone who’s regularly pushing your machine into range, a great wedding of the best components of the new Pro line.
